The drive from Marrakech Airport to Casablanca

Casablanca is 240 km north of Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), about 2 h 40 on a toll motorway from start to finish. The road crosses the dry Rehamna plain past Ben Guerir, then the farmland around Settat and Berrechid. The motorway part of the trip is predictable. The last kilometres inside Casablanca are not: this is Morocco's largest city, and traffic decides the final 20 minutes.

Confirm the exact drop-off when you book. The common ones:

• Hotels: the city centre, Maarif, Anfa and the Ain Diab corniche. Cars reach every door.
• Casa Voyageurs station: the main railway station, where the Al Boraq high-speed trains leave for Tangier. Tell us your train time and we plan the departure around it.
• Mohammed V Airport (CMN): the airport is at Nouaceur, about 30 km south of the centre and on the Marrakech side, so the car reaches it before the city traffic.

Stops, city traffic and tight connections

Service areas with fuel, cafés and toilets are spaced along the motorway, and a short stop is free. Around Settat is a natural halfway break.

Weekday rush hours in Casablanca run roughly from 8:00 to 9:30 and from 17:00 to 19:30. If you are heading to a city hotel in those windows, add 20 to 30 minutes.
